Usually this is caused by reverting from multiple monitors to a single monitor. SwiftView will remember its screen location from the last time it was closed. If it was used on a second monitor, and is now being used with a single-monitor setup, it will appear as if SwiftView opens and nothing happens.
To resolve this issue:
- Open SwiftView
- Hover the mouse cursor over SwiftView on the taskbar until the preview opens above the SwiftView icon
- Right click on the SwiftView preview (not on the taskbar icon itself)
- Select “Move” from the drop-down menu
- Use the arrow keys to manually move SwiftView to the active display
Note: This fix does not work if SwiftView has been added as a taskbar shortcut. If you are unable to bring up the preview window, close SwiftView, right-click on the icon on the taskbar, select “Unpin from taskbar” and attempt the above fix again.
Resolution #2:
The size and position of the SwiftView window is stored in the user-level .ini file. Deleting the file, or editing the file by removing the “Winsize=” command, will reset the window position to default, the next time SwiftView is launched.
The user-level .ini file can be found in C:\Users\{username}\AppData\Roaming. It can also be found by entering %APPDATA% into the Start Menu search/run box. As the AppData directory is hidden by default, entering %APPDATA% into the search bar may be the most reliable method of finding the directory.
