Customer Profile: Automated conversion helps simplify hospital records management
Automated conversion helps simplify hospital records management
A hospital was using McKesson’s Paragon report generator and Horizon Patient Folder to manage their documents. However, many documents created by the hospital’s staff were PCL files. Paragon and HPF could only accept JPGs or PDFs.
They needed a simple and fast way for hospital staff to move documents into their records management system as PDFs. By using SwiftConvert and Directory Monitor, they were able to create a system where doctors, nurses and support staff only need to drag-and-drop their files into a folder, and a compressed, searchable PDF appears in the correct location.
How did they do it?
SwiftConvert is a powerful command-line conversion product, but the hospital needed something accessible for end-users. By using SwiftConvert in conjunction with Directory Monitor, they were able to create “hot folders” that hospital staff could use to drop files into for automated conversion. SwiftConvert operates behind the scenes, giving administrators the flexibility and customizability they need while Directory Monitor distills the conversion process into the simplest drag-and-drop actions for end-users.
How can we do it?
A 30-day trial of SwiftConvert can be obtained by contacting the SwiftView licensing department. If you want to use SwiftConvert with Directory Monitor to create automated conversion systems, please email Licensing@PAPERBOS.com for an evaluation license.
