MENOMONEE FALLS, WI – August 31, 1999 – Strong Capital Management Inc. has selected SwiftView from Northern Development Group, Inc. (NDG) to facilitate automated daily publishing of 401(k) statements on Strong’s NetDirect® 401(k) online inquiry and transaction tool.

SwiftView enables Strong Funds to automatically refresh 401(k) plan information, giving plan participants 24-hour-a-day access to their statements. Strong’s statement generator automatically populates the web server with PCL format statements that users view with the SwiftView browser plug-in. The statements retain the same format and appearance as their regular paper statements, both online and when printed. The site is secured using a two-way encrypted system between the user and Strong’s passwork-protected, secure server.

“SwiftView makes it possible for us to use the HP LaserJet printer output from our 401K statement generator, which is PCL data, to put statements online without having to do file conversions or additional proofing,” said Neal Owens, online 401(k) product manager for Strong Funds. “With SwiftView, we can automatically publish 401(k) statements on the website, assuring perfect online reproductions of what we put in the mail to customers every quarter. Because they look the same online and on paper, customers who access their statements online can immediately understand them.”

“Strong Funds has created a state-of-the-art application that makes their publishing task both effortless and accurate,” said Randy Prakken, president of Northern Development Group.

SwiftView transforms PCL and HPGL into powerful electronic publishing formats by directly displaying them, eliminating the conversion and proofing process required by HTML and PDF. Industry-standard print-stream formats PCL and HPGL can be output from most Windows and Unix applications, such as MS Office, AutoCAD, PeopleSoft, Oracle, etc. SwiftView lets users see exactly what would otherwise print or plot, with all the formatting intact: page breaks, numbers, headers, tables, etc.
