PORTLAND, Or.-- April 26, 1999 -- Northern Development Group, Inc. (NDG)
today released SwiftStampT Version 1.2, a licensing application
for the company's SwiftView document viewer. SwiftStamp enables
publishers to embed unrestricted viewing licenses in documents and drawings,
so that users can view and print these documents at no cost with NDG's
SwiftView.
By eliminating both document conversion and per-user fees,
SwiftStamp
facilitates quick, effortless Web, intranet, or enterprise publishing of
files from almost any Windows or Unix application. "SwiftStamp makes it easy for publishers who can't or don't want
to count their users: Webmasters, IT managers, etc.," said Randy Prakken,
president of Northern Development Group. "With
SwiftStamp, the SwiftView
license is in the file, so
SwiftView use is free and unlimited for
anyone who wants to look at stamped files. This makes it easy to do mass
distribution of documents or drawings via email, CD-ROM, a web site, as
well as on WANs and LANs.
SwiftStamp even assures the integrity
of a document or drawing, because if the file has been changed since stamping,
SwiftView
will not view it."
SwiftStamp runs on Windows 95/98/NT and major UNIX systems, but
stamped files may be viewed on these systems plus Windows 3.1.
SwiftStamp
is priced at US$4,500 per system on which it is executed; an unlimited
number of files may be stamped on the licensed system.
SwiftView
can also be licensed by Web site or by LAN. Free fully-functional time-limited
trials of SwiftView can be downloaded from http://www.swiftview.com.
Free fully-functional time-limited trials of
SwiftStamp are available
upon email request to sales@swiftview.com
SwiftView transforms PCL and HPGL into powerful electronic publishing
formats by directly displaying the print stream data, eliminating the conversion
and proofing process required by HTML and PDF. Industry-standard print-stream
formats PCL and HPGL can be output from most Windows and Unix applications,
such as MS Office, AutoCAD, PeopleSoft, Oracle, etc.
SwiftView lets
users see exactly what would otherwise print or plot, with all the formatting
intact: page breaks, numbers, headers, tables, etc.
SwiftView is
fast, lean and simple but includes a powerful text stream API that makes
it easy for publishers to control GUI features, viewing, markup, etc.,
without complicated programming.
Founded in 1985, NDG develops high tech information systems, including
