Single-user PC/workstation license
Each single-user license permits SwiftView Tool product use by one user on one PC or Workstation.
A Single-user license is a file 'locked' to the licensed computer/host name.
Reinstalling the operating system does not affect licensing.
We will replace a license file if the system name changes, provided
Updates/Support coverage is current and the license is being used
in accordance with its intent.
If collecting hostnames for large volume purchases is a problem,
please discuss your proposed purchase with
sales.
If you wish to use SwiftView Tools products under Citrix, Terminal Server, a remotely accessed PC
e.g. Remote Desktop or PC Anywhere, a UNIX server or workstation; that is, any
form of multi-user or shared-access system, you should purchase an Application
Server or LAN license.

Application Server license
An Application Server license allows SwiftView Tools to be installed and executed by any
number of users on a single physical Windows server using Citrix, Terminal Server,
Remote Desktop, or any other remote access systems, or on a single UNIX server or workstation.
Users may execute a licensed SwiftView product on this server, and access its user interface from any networked display.
Or you may deploy your own applications that internally execute a licensed SwiftView product directly on this server.
For example, you may have a web browser-based application or a distributed networked application using Microsoft .NET or other distributed services, as long as the SwiftView programs are executed only on the licensed server.
An Application Server license is not a LAN license.
It does not enable executing SwiftView Tools products locally on a workstation connected to the licensed server, even if the SwiftView software is physically installed on a shared file system on the licensed server.
An Application Server license is a file 'locked' to the licensed computer/host name.
Reinstalling the operating system does not affect licensing.
We will replace a license file if the system name changes, provided
Updates/Support coverage is current and the license is being used
in accordance with its intent.
One license must be purchased for each server in a Citrix server farm.
In some cases, a WAN, website, or SwiftStamp license may be less expensive and/or
easier to deploy on multiple application servers.
Please discuss your proposed purchase with
sales.

LAN (local area network) license
A SwiftView LAN license enables users on multiple workstations on a single physical ethernet (i.e. without routers) in a single building.
Users can view and process documents from any source with the licensed SwiftView Tool(s), so long as they have
access to the LAN license file installed on one shared file server.
A LAN license is not a wide area network (WAN) or site license.
If you have an intranet web server from which you can install SwiftView Tools and access a license file, the
SwiftView WAN license is easier to deploy than multiple LAN licenses.
A LAN license is not an Application Server license. It is not to be
used to license execution on any server that services multiple users either locally or over the network, e.g.
Citrix, Terminal Server, via Remote Desktop, or other remote access systems.
In all cases the software executes on the user's workstation.
Standalone SwiftView Viewer can be installed on the file server, but the
SwiftView ActiveX or plugin must be installed
on each user's workstation.
SwiftView Tools products can be installed from the end-user installation pages on www.swiftview.com.
However, we recommend that you deploy the installers on your own file server so that you can select the version for your users.

WAN (wide area network) license
The WAN license leverages your site or corporate-wide intranet web server to easily license your
entire internal corporate or site wide-area network of Windows computers.
All users on your WAN can view documents from any source, so long as they have
access to one web server providing the SwiftView WAN license file.
The WAN license also licenses dialup, VPN or other users who can reliably and securely access your intranet web server.
WAN licenses may NOT be publically accessible from the internet.
WAN licenses only allow software execution on the Windows operating system.
We supply a single license file locked to your intranet website "root URL" name or IP address.
You place an html page, installers, and the WAN license file on a single intranet web server.
Users install from this server, then execute SwiftView Tools on their Windows PC.
The software reads the license from the web server, and the users can access any document file anywhere.
Internet Explorer must be installed on each computer and have access to the WAN license file.
You can place the SwiftView installers on your web server to control the version being used,
or link your install page directly to the customer install page on www.swiftview.com.
Contact SwiftView sales for
further details and pricing.

Unlimited user website license
Website licenses allow an unlimited number of users to view, print, and save documents and drawings
located on the licensed website using browser-based SwiftView Viewer.
The software may be downloaded freely and installed on an unlimited number of systems to access documents on the licensed website.
Purchasers of the website license have permission (and are encouraged) to
place browser-based SwiftView installation files on their own website
to ensure continuous, timely access to the desired version of the
browser-based SwiftView download.
Website licensing is server-based. We supply a single license file locked to your website "root URL" name or IP address.
The license permits one website to support an unlimited number
of browser-based SwiftView users, either within your company intranet or on the World Wide Web,
depending upon the license level.
A Website license is priced for one physical server and one URL root address.
If multiple physical servers support one website URL root address (e.g. "load-balancing"),
email SwiftView sales
for a price quote. Generally, each physical server requires a separate license.
Website licenses do not allow access to "local" files.
However, files viewed on a licensed site can be saved locally for later off-line access with browser-based SwiftView.
Any website accessible on the Internet requires the Internet Website license.
If you are unsure whether your server allows Internet access to your documents,
please email SwiftView sales
Rapidly changing technology makes it essential that all website users be provided with the latest
SwiftView Viewer. As a result, all SwiftView Internet Website Licenses require that
Updates and Support
be maintained as long as the license is actively used.

SwiftStamp: Everybody, everywhere can view your files with
SwiftView Viewer
SwiftStamp batch utility places SwiftView licenses in PCL, HPGL or TIFF files in a manner guaranteed not to modify
the appearance of the file. Once stamped, anyone, anywhere can view or print the
file with SwiftView Viewer for free. This provides the most flexible licensing, because stamped
files can be distributed by email, ftp, CD, or a website.
SwiftStamp can also place licenses on PCL, HPGL or TIFF files after they have been zipped, thereby
making no change to the file itself. SwiftView unzips and displays the licensed files without
user interaction or knowledge. The zip package can also contain ICS commands and require the
user to enter a password to view.
SwiftStamp batch utility is licensed for individual servers.
We supply a license file 'locked' to the licensed computer's name.
Reinstalling the operating system does not affect licensing.
Rapidly changing technology makes it essential that all SwiftStamp document recipients be provided with the latest
SwiftView Viewer. As a result, all SwiftStamp batch utility licenses require that
Updates and Support
be maintained as long as the license is actively used.
